Dear Colleagues,
By 15^th December 2009, International Academic Scientific Committee of the Conference has reviewed and accepted 156 abstracts from 28 countries written by total of 302 authors and co-authors. Of the total received number of abstract 38%  are from Croatia and 62% from outside Croatia. Organizing Committee of the First International Conference on Road and Rail Infrastructure (CETRA 2010) has organized two keynote lectures for the first day of the Conference.

First keynote lecture well be held by Prof. Coenraad Esveld, Professor of Railway Engineering at TU Delft, Netherlands.
Second keynote lecture will be held by Prof. Johann Litzka, Professor emeritus at the Institute for Road Construction and Maintenance at TU Wien, Austria.

Due to the extension of abstract submission deadline for the 2^nd round, we have also posponed abstract acceptance date to 15^th January 2010.

Dear Colleagues,
After passing the deadline of abstract submission for First International Conference on Road and Rail Infrastructure (CETRA 2010), we have received 124 abstracts from 25 countries. From received abstracts it can be seen that topics, both from roads and railways, are equally represented. All received abstracts are going to be reviewed by International Academic Scientific Committee. Authors will be informed on abstract acceptance by e-mail no later than 20 November 2009.

Because of daily inquiries on the matter of possibility to send abstracts after the stated deadline, the Organizing Committee made a decision to open a SECOND ROUND of abstract submission ending with 10 December 2009. Authors will be informed on abstract acceptance for the second round no later than 15 December 2009. However, the deadline for full paper submission remains 15 February 2010, the same as for the authors that submitted their abstracts in the first round.

When launching a web page of the conference (www.grad.hr/cetra), 01/06/2009, and sending the first announcements via email and regular mail, web site has been visited total 2223 times until publishing this news item. The attendance was from 63 countries, more precisely from 332 cities. Organization Committee of the First International Conference on Road and Rail Infrastructure (CETRA 2010) that will take place in Opatija (Croatia) 17-18 May 2010, has, due to a large number of requests, postponed the deadline for abstract submission from 15 October to 31 October 2009.
We have received the abstracts from 17 countries until now. From the received abstracts it can be seen that topics, both from roads and railways, are equally represented. Interest shown for this conference on roads and railways can probably be attributed to the fact that life without them is today almost inconceivable.
CETRA 2010 conference is the central event concerning road and railway infrastructure in Croatia the following year. If you also decide to participate in this interesting international scientific-professional assembling next year in Opatija (oldest and most attractive tourist destination on Croatian Adriatic) there is still enough time to prepare an abstract according to the conference topics.
